New Faculty Advisors
Two Valparaiso University staff members have agreed to help the chapter as faculty advisors. Michael Hagenberger an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering and Ruth Connell a Reference Service Librarian will be helping the chapter throughout the next year with academic standing and faculty communication.

Long Time Cook Nora Crum to Retire After 18 Years
Nora has decided to move to Demotte, IN after her whole life in Valparaiso and is retiring from her position as house cook. Nora has purchasd a new house and will join her daughter and other family in Demotte. She is moving in mid October this fall. We will be holding a celebration and retirement dinner with her at the chapter house during homecoming on October 8th. A new cook has been lined up and will be taking over Nora's responsibilities in October.

Chapter Pledges 10 New Brothers!
Congrats to rush chairs Brian Boline and Andy Schneider on putting together a very successful Fall Rush. The chapter pledged 10 new guys last week after holding 7 rush events throughout the fall including Beach BBQ Bash, Open House, Monte Carlo Night, VU Campus Golf, Kyle Carson Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, Monday Night Football, and Preference Dinner.

Brother Kevin Marks ('92) Elected New Chapter Advisor
Brother Kevin Marks was elected new chapter advisor of the Indiana Epsilon chapter by the undergraduate brothers last week at the first official house meeting of the fall. Kevin Marks fills a vacancy left open when Brother Jamie Acton ('88) resigned last spring in order to pursue more involvement in the House Corporation Board and greater campus involvement with his current position as Director of Alumni Relations at Valparaiso University. This past weekend Kevin and Mark Matasic ('95), House Corporation President, were at the Dab Williams Alumni College in Phoenix gathering information and sharing ideas with other chapter advisors, house corp members and other Phi Kappa Psi alumni from around the country. They have great things planned for this year and are looking forward to one of the most successful years in recent history. If you would like to become involved in any way shape or form please contact one of them they'll put you to work.

Brother Eric Hollar ('97) Affected by Katrina...
I'm sure many of you know people who have been affected in one way or another by Hurricane Katrina. Eric Hollar who pledged Phi Kappa Psi at Valparaiso on Fall of 1997 is one of these people. The important news is he is safe, as is his wife and baby girl. His home has sustained massive damage, but will hopefully be salvaged. Eric also serves as pastor at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Biloxi, Mississippi. While the church itself was mostly spared, many members of the congregation have lost nearly everything.

To see more about the disaster Eric is dealing with and to learn how you can help, visit this site: http://www.compsol-ar.com/gslc/index.html (If you click on the pictures link and scroll down Eric is the guy in the black shorts throwing the football.)

Please keep Eric, his family and his congregation in your prayers. Also, please pass this information along to others who may be willing to help.
